Netflix and Spotify announce podcast partnership

Ana sayfa / News

Netflix and Spotify, two giants of the digital streaming world, have signed a major agreement. 16 of Spotify’s most popular video podcasts will soon be available to Netflix subscribers.

Spotify, the music and podcast platform with millions of subscribers worldwide, and video content giant Netflix have joined forces. A total of 16 video podcasts, produced by Spotify and primarily in partnership with the popular streaming studio The Ringer, will be added to the Netflix catalog starting in early 2026.

This move expands the platform’s video content offering into podcasts, while Spotify will have the opportunity to connect its most popular publishers to a much wider audience.

The 16 podcasts under the agreement will be available to viewers in various categories:

Netflix announced that these programs, which will initially be available to US subscribers in early 2026, will be expanded to other countries later.

Another key detail of the agreement is its advertising policy. It stated that the platform will not run commercial breaks during these video podcasts. However, traditional ads within the podcasts, familiar to users from Spotify, will remain.

A key claim is that this agreement also prevents the entirety of these programs from being released on YouTube. This could make it mandatory for users to have a Netflix or Spotify subscription to watch these popular video podcasts.

Netflix and Spotify officials emphasize that the partnership will increase content discovery and offer creators the opportunity to reach new audiences. This strategic move is expected to pave the way for new partnerships in the digital entertainment industry.
